DURHAM, N.C. — CertiTrek, representing the world's top industry-recognized certification companies, announces the acquisition of the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification, Inc., and the Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation.

The CLTC designation gives financial professionals training in the important, challenging, and growing field of long-term care planning.

Elder law attorney Harley Gordon, Esq. created CLTC in 1997 because he believed that long-term care planning was an essential component to comprehensive financial, retirement, and estate planning.

The CLTC course was specifically created to give advisors and other professionals the insight, confidence, and competence to proactively engage their clients. The daily operations of CLTC will continue under the experienced leadership of CLTC General Manager, Jennifer White. Bill Comfort, a CLTC instructor for 13 years, has been named to the new position of Director of Training and Development.

The CLTC designation can be obtained in one of two ways: an intensive, two-day, live interactive course taught by experienced instructors, or online. Both options require students to pass a comprehensive, proctored exam. The integrity of the course is evidenced by the granting of continuing education credits in all states, as well as by the CFP Board of Standards.

CLTC also offers additional training options including CE and non-CE presentations on various topics related to long-term care planning and the proper use of insurance. A one-day Immersion program couples LTC planning principles with practical applications for financial advisors and insurance sales professionals.

Approximately 4,000 people participate in CLTC training each year, of which 1,200 earn their CLTC designation, which is recognized by major insurance carriers and Broker Dealers.
